{MM} Marvelous Mondays is back.

The sheer number of cool people in this world is staggering, when you think about it. 

Which is why, I am (so) excited to get back to regular postings of the {MM} series. 

I feel strongly that the mission of , in part, should be highlighting & sharing some of the amazing goodness that so many people are creating each day on the www.

The discussion about body image on Friday was awesome. I’ve said this before, but your comments make my blog, a blog. I’m just sort of jabbering away & then you guys step in & make my posts really worth something. Many, many great points & insights.

Curves

My curves have returned.

I’ve gone from a size 4/6, to a 6/8. My body fat percentage is no longer 18%, but more like a healthy 22 or 23%. My muscle definition has softened.

These changes have mostly been brought on because I’ve eschewed formal exercise (for the time being) & embraced the activity that is a natural part of my day to day. Things like walking the kids to school, housework, & chasing after 2 year old who doesn’t stop moving unless I’m reading her a book or she’s asleep.

More than that, though, since I believe your weight is more a reflection of your diet rather than your exercise (as you can easily eat your way out of any calorie deficits incurred from physical activity), is that I’ve relaxed my approach to food.

A slow life

I had an art professor in college who taught that if a painting, or a piece of design, had an element in it that could be taken out of the piece & you did not miss it, or feel that the piece was lacking because of that particular omission, that element is unnecessary. It’s clutter. The piece is better, more beautiful without it.

We’ve been in Texas for almost 2 months now.

My days have been a whirl of errands, cleaning, unpacking. Organizing, shopping, making meals. Making sure my children are safe, loved, & cared for.

Which, on paper, sounds like a cinch.

When a 2 year old is included in that bunch, well, the task is somewhat more daunting. (She has locked me out of the house, painted herself & the walls with lipstick, filled my teapot with oatmeal, thrown things in the toilet, chewed...
