A short summary of the last 5.5 years

Hello? Hello??
Anyone there?

It’s been awhile.

5.5 years.

In which time I’ve add three more kids to our brood.

We moved from Japan, to Texas, to Virginia, & then back to Japan.

We’ve lived in Tokyo for the past two years.

I now have 3 teenagers, a baby, a toddler, & several kids in between. It’s a zoo at our house!

I have missed blogging. But my I’m glad I took a needed season off.

The world has changed so much (do people read blogs anymore???).

I am still plantbased, almost 40, & still married to my dreamboat of husband.

Many blessings, but we have also had many struggles. Moving 3 times in 3 years, anyone??

(Oh yeah, there was also a 9 month deployment to Afghanistan.)

With much trepidation I decided to enter the online world again.

To be honest, motherhood has been a lot, & I love having an outlet to express creativity.

Oh!

And I just started an online coaching business.

You can read all about here. I would so appreciate it if you checked it out & let me know what you think!

I am excited, but also very nervous. The world moves at such a fast pace now, I’m not sure I can even remotely keep up with with all the cool kids are doing now (Tik Tok, Snap Chat–nope).

I recently got on Instagram (I know, like a decade too late) & will likely be a lot more active there. It’s essentially microblogging, which works for my lifestyle.

I hope to be back in the space a bit more, but it’s going to be very different.

I am no longer chasing recipe creation. My food is pretty simple, predictable, & do-able. I just want to feed my babies & myself without spending hours in the kitchen. I love the idea of spending lots of time in the kitchen cooking, but mama just don’t got time for that!

So. I will be here to share bits of my life, & perhaps insights into my continued journey of trying to find some semblance of balance in all the chaos.

If you read this far & your are an OG from the good old days, please leave me a comment (& follow me on Instagram if you are there❤️)–it would seriously mean the world to me to hear from some of my old readers.

Much love,

Janae
