You know how difficult it is to get 3 children & a toddler to pose (in a somewhat uniform fashion) for the family Christmas photo?
I took these whilst on our Thanksgiving excursion.
This was before Thanksgiving dinner & the kids had been playing with their cousins. Everyone was dressed up in a costume & didn’t want to take them off.
So, instead of fighting with them about it, I thought, eh, what the heck. Let them wear the costumes. It’s more authentic, more memorable. That’s what I tell myself.
This year I’m sending out holiday postcards, rather than a Christmas card, letter, & photo.

How was your Thanksgiving?
Ours was spent up in the mountains.
We rented a lodge & cabins & spent 3 days playing games, cooking (& eating), playing in the snow. I did quite a bit of reading (almost finished with The Shoemaker’s Wife–so good!) & crocheting.

This year we’re having a very scaled back Christmas (due to our revised budget/life).
For starters, since we’ll be in the midst of moving, then unpacking right before Christmas, we won’t be putting up our decorations for Christmas until right before the holiday.
