Frugal Tuesdays: 10 Tips for selling & making money on ebay

Have you ever sold anything on ebay?

I have.

I’ve been selling things here & there for about 7 years. It’s not a business for me, but rather a much easier way to have a yard sale. And it’s kinda fun!

I admit, I love selling stuff & I love getting positive feedback, & of course, the money is great too.

Plus, you get rid of junk you don’t need anymore, someone else wants it, you get some cash & you have less clutter at home–a win-win-win. I’ve made somewhere around $1800 in the last year selling stuff on ebay–not bad considering most of the stuff were things just laying around my house. I did also buy a load of gently used designer jeans, coats, & other clothing items from Goodwill for $5-10 & sold them for $15-$25 as well.

{MM} 10.21.2013 why we all need more hugs (& apples)

Happy Monday.

This weekend I had a chance to do some freelance work in Austin.

It was our first trip to Austin, can you believe it? We’ve lived here almost a year & though Austin is only an hour & a half away, we’d never been.

It was kinda everything I expected–green (like San Antonio), beautiful (there’s a river that runs through town), artsy (reminiscent of Seattle), & athletic (there was a Livestrong bike race going on when we were there & so many people jogging/walking).  Joseph took the kids to the park while I did my work, so I didn’t get to see too much of the city, but we’re definitely going back, when finances & good timing collide.

For many years, I worked part-time outside of the home.

Now, I’m a full-time stay-at-home mom.

Kinda. I guess when I think of stay-at-home mom, I don’t think of myself. Because yes, I “stay-at-home” (ie. my 2 year old is attached at the hip 24-7), but that doesn’t mean I don’t “work.” I’ve always had side projects going on, & of course running the day to day activities of our family & home life is a part-time job in & of itself. I realize it’s a little ill-informed to associate “stay-at-home” with “not-doing-much,” because anyone who has experienced the life of a stay-at-home parent for any amount of time knows that it’s the exact opposite.
