Happy Monday.
This weekend I had a chance to do some freelance work in Austin.
It was our first trip to Austin, can you believe it? We’ve lived here almost a year & though Austin is only an hour & a half away, we’d never been.
It was kinda everything I expected–green (like San Antonio), beautiful (there’s a river that runs through town), artsy (reminiscent of Seattle), & athletic (there was a Livestrong bike race going on when we were there & so many people jogging/walking). Joseph took the kids to the park while I did my work, so I didn’t get to see too much of the city, but we’re definitely going back, when finances & good timing collide.
I’ve been working frantically at getting the ebooks ready to release. I’m hoping they’ll be ready for you by mid-November. In the meantime, I’m having a hard time not sharing these recipes with you.
Here’s one we had over the weekend & will be included in my main recipe ebook.
An extremely simple (inexpensive) & delicious take on an Italian classic–pasta e fagoli:
Also, you may have noticed I’ve added advertising back to the site.
I’m now with the BlogHer publishing network, which I’m thrilled about.
Mostly because I like them (hello, they’re all about giving a voice to women & women’s issues–what’s not to like about that?), & for an ad network, they work very hard at making sure bloggers get a say in what ads are viewed on their blog.
For example, I opted out of any ads that advertise infant formula, fast-food, processed food, pharmaceuticals, & any animal products. So hopefully, you shouldn’t see anything that would be offensive or off-putting.
Alright, ’nuff business, onto the good stuff.
♥ First, eat more apples–but you already knew this, didn’t you?
(go here, to find out why, other than for the obvious reason that they are delicious.)
