If you don’t know: My husband is training to be a JAG officer for the U.S. Air Force. His training takes him away from us late August to just before Christmas. This is another installment of my correspondence to him.
(Yes, I am not wearing a smidgen of make-up in the above photo–just the way Joseph likes me, surprisingly–& yes I really did email this to him.)

J—I’m starting to get a little grumpy about the fact that we have not really talked in days.
(Our 60 second conversation tonight does not count.)
I know you’re busy, busy, busy (so am I), but it would be great to hear from you a bit more often. A text, an email. Anything to know that you’re still my husband & that you still love me.
I know men like to compartmentalize, & right now you’re submersed in the rituals of all things military, your rite of passage so to speak. But, but, but. You still have a family. You have 4 kids who would love to hear from you. And a wife who feels the same.
That’s all.
& so you know, I love you.
