Another edition of…
Last night’s sunset, in Sunnyside.
What I did this weekend.
More good things:
♥ Scenes of summer that take you there.
♥ A beautiful video, An Ode to Summer from Kinfolk.
♥ I really like this swimsuit, a bit reminiscent of a by-gone era.
♥ This is on my wish list of places to go glamping someday. (Can you believe the location?!)
♥ Have you had fun lately? Reasons why you should be having fun (& watching Netflix, as Alice points out, does not count).
♥ I just discovered this band & think their music is exactly what the doctor ordered. I really love the energy, rhythm, & overall positive vibe of the song & video, don’t you?
♥ Do you mother with “soft hands”?
♥ Is veganism a luxury? A thoughtful article (as always), by Gena of Chosing Raw.
♥ Vegan meals with an Indian flare– a piece about a cookbook author & mom of 2, from NPR.
♥ Inspiring proof that a little activism can go a long way in changing how women’s bodies are portrayed in the media.
♥ I’ve recently become a convert of braiding. My hair is thick & unruly, so it takes 1/2 an hour or more to tame the beast, which, with all the swimming we do, is not worth it during the summer. So I’ve turned to braiding my hair, which is a quick, rather painless way to get my hair out of the way & it doesn’t look too bad, either. And, I like this braid.
♥ A pretty video tutorial of how to do the crown braid (I’ve been doing this on Mali’s hair lately) & create beautiful wavy “rag” curls, from She Let’s Her Hair Down.
♥ Has organic food gone the way of Big Food? An interesting article on the issue of mass production of organic food, from the NY Times.
♥ Do you have a checklist of things you do when you’re feeling depressed?
And,
Some summer recipes to pin:
a blueberry quinoa crumble,
a no-sugar sweet something, &
an inventive recipe for your peaches.
