My parents have lived in the same house for almost 35 years.
They raised 7 kids in this 2,000 square foot house. Not a lot of space by today’s standards, but the one thing going for us was the yard. Lots of shade, room to run around.
When we were young, my mom built a tree house & fort, we had a trampoline, a swing hanging from our old maple tree, a sandbox, & best of all, a pool. As kids we spent most of our days, when not in school, outside. Idyllic, right?
28 years ago, my mom bought the above ground pool for $250, installed it & built a deck around it. During the summer, I spent my childhood living in that pool.
Yesterday, she took it down for good. It was time.
So long pool. Thanks for the memories.
