{MM} 10.14.2013 marvelous mondays: is coconut water worth the expense? + the list of loves

Happy Columbus Day.
(whatever that means)

Thanks to everyone who gave suggestions on facebook for movie night. Lots on our list of things to watch now. In the end, we decided on Gladiator (we watched via clearplay, which I highly recommend). We’ve already seen it before, but it’s a fave for both Joseph & me. Epic story, beautiful score, tragic/heroic story, brilliant acting (love Russel Crowe & that Joaquin Phoenix is just pure evil).

Also, lots of good discussion going on, on the blog & on fb last week. Especially about how the Costco board of directors has been overtaken by vegans & health nuts (at least that’s my biased, unfounded theory)–yes!–although they still have those ginormous deliciously addictive muffins with the crumbly stuff on top that I used to love (…). I do have a question though, about coconut water. I bought some because there was a coupon for it (total impulse buy), & after a few of your comments on fb & listening to my better judgement (ie. Joseph’s disbelief that I actually bought it–he said “I need to go with you whenever you go shopping at Costco…” hint taken, honey), I’ve 95% convinced myself to return it. I just can’t justify the expense.

But, what do you think–do you drink coconut water? If so, plain, in smoothies, after a workout? Like or no like?

Now, onto the list of ♥’s:

♥ these couples costumes (especially the “Moonrise Kingdom” couple–I guess you’d only “get it” if you’ve watched the movie, but supercute.)

♥ I’m into using brown postal paper for gift wrap these days (in fact, I used some this weekend at a baby shower & I dressed it up with these free printable gift tags). Here’s one easy way to dress up postal paper with post-it notes. Yes, post-it notes.

Pinned to my holiday board: I’m saving up all our used toilet paper rolls to make this Christmas advent calender–I love upcycling!
