Christmas Postcards + Minted Review & Giveaway

You know how difficult it is to get 3 children & a toddler to pose (in a somewhat uniform fashion) for the family Christmas photo?

I took these whilst on our Thanksgiving excursion.

This was before Thanksgiving dinner & the kids had been playing with their cousins.  Everyone was dressed up in a costume & didn’t want to take them off.

So, instead of fighting with them about it, I thought, eh, what the heck.  Let them wear the costumes.  It’s more authentic, more memorable.  That’s what I tell myself.

This year I’m sending out holiday postcards, rather than a Christmas card, letter, & photo.

Holiday postcards are a somewhat new concept to me, but I think it’s brilliant–less postage, less waste.  You can include a photo (or 2 or 3) & you still have the option of writing a mini-version of a Christmas letter on the back.

I’ll be ordering mine from Minted*.  Have you seen what they have to offer?

I love the variety & style of their photo cards.   I am a fan of their typography–stylish, elegant, modern–you know I’m a sucker for good typography.

And oh, the options.  I still haven’t buckled down & made my choice yet.  But they have a “find it fast” tool where you can upload your photos & see multiple holiday card designs at once.  Makes the whole process so much easier.

You can personalize the design you choose, & they make it easy to do so.  Their prices are extremely reasonable & their products are high-quality & professional.  Love Minted!

I’m thrilled to be able to share the Minted love & offer a $43 gift card (the amount to purchase 25 holiday postcards) to two bring joy readers.

    Hi Again
I now follow you on pininterest. I love your boards. Do you sew? Or do you just like the idea of sewing, which is me. I would love to be able to sew those cute critters you pinned.

I love the postcard idea! So cute, to the point, and like you mentioned, little waste. Why do I want to win? I am cutting out a lot on our journey to live more simply and pay off our house, I wasn’t even planning on sending cards this year. If I win some, though, I will do it for sure!!

    Hi Janae,
I found out two years ago that I am gluten and lactose intolerant, also that I am insulin resistant(meaning I now eat about 50 carbs a day). Since this discovery I have lost 50lbs by making simple(but hard!) lifestyle changes, particularly the way I eat. Your blog has been a great inspiration in my journey to healthful living!
My husband and I just got married three weeks ago and live over two hours away from any of our friends and family. He is a full time youth pastor, college student(history major), and also works full time. Winning these cards would be a great way to reach out to our friends and family this Christmas, and to share a picture or two from our wedding – especially with those loved ones who couldn’t make the trip.
I always enjoy reading your blog and seeing your posts on the various social networks. Your kids look adorable and I wish you and yours a Very Merry Christmas. God bless!

No need to enter me in the contest, but I had to take a minute to tell you just how stinken adorable your kids are Janae. My goodness, each one sweeter than the next. These photos are incredible and I LOVE that they are wearing costumes. So fun and they (and I am sure you) will remember this day forever! Lots of love to you and your family 🙂

I would love the cards as a way to share the our son Mylan’s first Christmas with our family and friends. All of our family members, except for one aunt, live in different cities (and even countries) from us, and I would love to stay in touch with them this way.

I love the costumes too. What an adorable card. I have been on the fence about whether or not to do Christmas cards this year. Winning this giveaway would certainly make that decision for me 🙂 We have done the photo cards in the past, but never a post card. I LOVE that idea. Win the giveaway or not, if I decide to do cards, I think that is the direction I’ll go, so thanks for pointing it out 🙂

First of all, love the costume idea! Now…here’s my soapbox: I’d LOVE to win the Minted gift card because I have a new baby, new house and have been moving around the last couple years so I haven’t been able to actually send out holiday cards for way to long. Being able to use the creative Minted postcards this year to display our new additions would be awesome!

I’m not participating in the giveaway. Just wanted to say I think the costumes are AWESOME! 😀 It’s like when you show a kid how to do some craft project and they completely do their own thing–so much more *real*, kwim?
