When I went to BlogHer Food in Seattle a few weeks ago, I met some with some folks from two awesome companies whose products I can wholeheartedly support: Bob’s Red Mill & Wholesome Sweeteners. Both companies carry products that are vegan, organic, & help make my life easier & better.
Bob’s carries dozens & dozens of gluten-free grains, seeds, flour mixes, & flours. Many of their products are organic, & I love that you can now find Bob’s Red Mill in many regular grocery stores, including Wal-mart.
Wholesome Sweeteners specializes in natural, vegan, & gf alternatives to refined sugars. My fave is their entire line of flavored agave syrup. Cinnamon, maple syrup, strawberry, & vanilla are among some of their flavors. I know, agave’s not a health food (it’s often mistaken as such), but it is vegan & a better option than white sugar.
Plus, how fun are these single serving packets? Perfect for putting in your morning oatmeal, or drizzling over some buttermilk pancakes.
I got a stash of loot from my friends at Wholesome Sweeteners & Bob’s. It’s been awhile since I’ve done a giveaway, so I thought I’d share the goodness.

I put quinoa and kale in mashed potatoes- so good!
I also commented on your other post
I commented on your Vegan Buttermilk Pancakes.
I have not tried quinoa, chia, or agave but I am considering starting a vegan diet. Will probably be using those foods soon as well as your website!
Liked you on facebook!
I just commented on the other link about pancakes for the additional entry. Hope I win!!
Liked your facebook page!!
My friend and I used agave syrup to make a gluten-free cake. I absolutely loved it and can not wait to try out your recipe!!

I use quinoa a lot to make a breakfast berry PORRIDGE and i love to use chia seeds to make vegan pudding

I’ve used quinoa and chia seeds before, but haven’t branched out from my stevia staple to try agave. When quinoa’s in my kitchen, it’s usually going into some savory fried little cakes or serving as a bed of grains for a veggie medley. As for the chias seeds? Those bad boys are thrown into smoothies, stir frys, and salads. It’s meals like those that food and health just mix!

What an awesome giveaway! I love all those products
I use chia & agave every morning in my overnight oats – and quinoa is my fave grain. I primarily add it to my yummy massaged kale salads (along with lots of other goodies) to keep me going strong!

I love using agave as a replacement for sugar! But there are a lot of people saying that it is no better than high fructose corn syrup so I am trying to cut back on my use of agave. I have never used chia seeds but I would love to! And I really want quinoa I just don’t know why I have never gotten around to buying it yet….
I have used all of those things-I love to use them in smoothies or baking!
i like on FB
I have used most of the ingredients, i like using a little Agave instead of sugar since i think you get more out of a smaller amount. And i like using quinoa flakes in place of oatmeal
I use quinoa all the time, it’s actually become one of my staple foods. My favorite way to eat it is to cook it then stir fry with celery, onions, bell pepper, and whatever veggies we have on hand and a little bit of Bragg’s liquid aminos. I also use agave sparingly in smoothies, raw fudge, lemonade. Chia seeds I throw into smoothies but I haven’t done a whole lot else with those yet.
I “like” you on facebook already.
Thanks!
Joya
I love quinoa! I cook it in my rice cooker, sooo easy. Most of the time I cook with just with some kind of broth, such as veggie broth or chicken or beef. But then I eat on it all week, cutting up veggies and makeing a quinoa salad. I’ve had the gastric sleeve and it is the easiest to go down and has so much nutrients in it. I use Agave sweetner since before it was cool, looking forward to these new flavorsI have not used chia seeds yet, looking forward to the suggestions posted.
I like you on fb.
I have a bag of quinoa in my cupboard, mocking me every time I don’t open it.
I have used all three. I have only fixed quinoa a couple of times but loved with with a broth base! I use chia seeds all the time and my favorite way to have those is on fresh berries with greek yogurt. I use Agave alternately with honey and my favorite way to have it is on cinnamon raisin sprouted grain bread with any nut butter.
I’ve used all three and love all three
I love to use quinoa as a base for stir fry instead of rice. Also, in a cold salad its really good. Chia seeds are my favorite – they add so much texture to food. I use them in baking cookies, oatmeal, smoothies, etc. And lastly, I have used agave in baking and to sweeten pancakes, oatmeal on occasion. Now that I know its not as healthy as it was touted to be I haven’t bought any more.I do it like on occasion of course
I left a comment on your other post too!
I have used all 3 but just recently tried chia seeds and so far have only used them in smoothies – I need to try some new ideas. I love quinoa, my favourite recipe is a lentil salad with radish, cherry tomatoes and avocado that I got from clean eatting magazine. But my favourite food in the world is pancakes and those ones look amazing.
I have used quinoa and chia seeds but I have never used agave. I tried agave for the first time at Sam’s a couple months ago. Very sweet! I haven’t gotten very creative with how I use quinoa. I mainly use quinoa where I would normally use rice just to change things up a bit. I want to try using quinoa in those pancakes you made. I enjoy sneaking healthy ingredients in recipes where you would never expect it like quinoa in pancakes. I bought some white chia seeds about two weeks ago. So far I have used them in smoothies, homemade granola bars, and cookies and love it! I know there are other types of chia seeds or maybe just one other type but I haven’t tried those yet.
I like using agave in coffee.
I have never tried these items, but would enjoy the chance to. I really like incorporating new foods into my diet.
would like to sample some

I have used all three. I love Dreena Burton’s Hummus-Quinoa Casserole from Vive Le Vegan (with some added basil, oregano, garlic powder, and onion powder sprinkled in over the veggies…the first time I tried it I didn’t have balsamic vinegar, but now I use that AND the herbs). We use it as a dip with multi-grain tortilla chips. Yum! I also really like quinoa with her almond-sauced stir fry recipe from the same book. I am pretty sure I tried chia seeds in some granola bar things I made from one of your recipes, but I’ve been meaning to experiment more with it. I’ve used agave to make a nice addition to oatmeal and fruit to give it just a little extra sweetness.
I use quinoa as a side dish with brown rice and garlic and the whole family loves it. I also have some cold salad recipes for it.
I use agave for baking all of the time! I have a MAJOR sweet tooth, so I can’t resist the temptation to bake but almost always (except as a special treat for my kids once in a while) modify the ingredients to make it lower fat/whole grain, etc….My favorite recipes to use it in is my whole grain choc chip cookies and whole grain Cranberry Crunch cookies-I use a bunch of good stuff in there-avocado, Bob’s steel cut oats, Bob’s oat flour, Bob’s Spelt flour.
I eat Chia daily and the main 2 ways that I eat it are in my bowl of yogurt and berries for lunch and I sprinkle them in my breakfast as well-oatmeal or on eggs.
I have used quinoa as a side dish mixed with veggies. I have also make a hot shrimp salad with quinoa that is fantastic. I’ve not used the other items yet but would like to try them. I am trying to change my diet and the way I cook for a more healthy way of living.
I have used quinoa, as a substitute for wheat, because I am gluten free. I have also used agave in my herb teas and in my Apple cider vinegar drink.
My favorite way to use quinoa is Veganomicon’s Black Bean, Mango and Quinoa salad. Refreshing, easy and delish!
we love agave in place of syrup or brown sugar-I love quinoa in green salads!
we use agave just like we would honey. and chias are a staple in our morning bowl of oats!
I use quinoa in burgers, as a side tossed with whatever I have on hand – tomatoes, olives, onions, peppers and sometimes with a mixture of dried fruits. Chia seeds are sprinkled everywhere, you name it they’ve been there. I have never tried agave and have been meaning to but just never got around to it. This is one fantastic giveaway. Good luck to everyone (including me – I hope, I hope).
We have tried some of Bob’s Red Mill products. We eat the granola often and love the different bean combinations especially in soups. I would love to try the Wholesome sweetners and the Chia seeds. I have’t tried these or the chia seeds yet, but looking forward to trying them. I’m always looking for healthy foods for my family.
I love quinoa I use it plain as a side, I put it in wraps, add it to burgers. I don’t use chia seeds as much…I’ve put them in cookies and muffins. Agave I like to put in my tea in the morning.
I have never tried any of these products. I have recently read a lot about the benefits of using natural sweeteners and would like to incorporate them into my diet to replace the artificial ones.
I love agave syrup. We use it on pancakes and waffles all the time.
I Like you on Facebook (FB name is Healthy, Organic & Cheap)
would love to try these
Never tried it..would love to!
I use agave syrup on pancakes instead of maple syrup, in making vegan rice pudding (or sweetened rice with coconut milk, agave and cinnamon-for breakfast).
I liked you on facebook.
I am always looking for healthier alternatives and Wholesome Sweeteners sounds good to me. Look forward to trying them.
I have never used quinoa, chia seeds, or agave, but am looking forward to learning about healthier alternatives.
I use quinoa all the time. My family’s favorite is a simple pilaf — saute onion, garlic, carrot (or whatever veggie I have in the fridge), add stock instead of water. Delish!
I’ve used agave on occasion in recipes.
I’d love to try chia seeds, but I live in a small town and my groceries don’t carry them yet. Keep forgetting to pick them up when I get to the big city!
I like your facebook page!
I have never tried any of them but have never turned down food, especially natural. I would love to try them and incorporate them into our recipes.
I love all the ingredients you mentioned, and often combine chia seeds with agave (plus some almond milk and vanilla) to make chia pudding. It’s such a refreshing, healthy treat for hot days.
For those ingredients, I would most likely use all three together in a granola type breakfast. If individually I’ll use quinoa as a replace for wheat berries for salad, chia seeds I would put it in my cereal and agave for my regular baking and coffee.
I use agave as syrup on pancakes and waffles. I use quinoa in place of rice in many things, but my favorite recipe so far was a tortilla soup. Chia seeds I have only just begun using, and I’ve put them in smoothies and overnight refrigerator oatmeal.
I used the agave in my coffee and my hubby used it on his cereal and oatmeal.
I like you on facebook.
My husband has suffered with cancer and we changed his sugar intake to agave and honey to try and make his diet healthier. He used it on cereal, oatmeal and I used it in my coffee.
We use agave in place of syrup or anytime a recipe calls for sugar. We also use chia in our morning smoothie or make a pudding out of it.
I’ve used quinoa and agave as substitutes for rice and sugar. I would like to learn more ways to cook with them.
Quinoa as a rice/pasta substitue. Also in chili. Not sure what to use chia seeds for.
I have used all 3. being Allergic to gluten quinoa is great for me. I think i like chia seeds best. I use them in cereal, muffins (most baking items), even my lemon water and smoothies.
I love using quinoa. I haven’t tried chia seeds or agave flavored agave syrup yet, but I’m looking forward to them both!!
I love all three ingredients! Hope win and try UR! Thanks!
I have not tried quinoa, chia sees or agave. I have seen them in the store and wanted to get them, but not sure what to do with them. I am just getting into trying different things that are more healthy for myself and my family.
First I have seen this. I would love to try them
Love all of these ingredients! My favorite is chia and agave together with cocoa powder for some chocolate chia pudding!!!
I liked the site on Facebook.
I make a quinoa and red lentil stew that is delicious, love agave in everything from tea to smoothies to baking, and have recently discovered chia pudding.
I use Quinoa as often as I can! I LOVE it. My favorite way is making stuffed peppers with Quinoa, and also a sweet potato Quinoa recipe I have. Fantastic! I have never tried chia seeds or agave, I really want to but I can not find it around here. I see recipes all the time calling for one or the other and wish I could find some! I really look forward to reading all of your ides!

I have never tried quinoa, chia seeds, or agave.
I use agave as syrup but thought it was a health food. Would love some more insight into that. I also use chia seeds as a thickener in raw overnight oats
Oops. Thought it didn’t getting first comment
I have used all three, mostly agave as a syrup substitute and chia seeds in my raw overnight oats as a thickener. Um, I thought agave was a health food. Would love some more insight into that. Thanks!
I have tons of quinoa sitting, waiting for me to use more of it. I’ve been lazy lately and not planning means enough in advance to take to work… which is what I typically make the quinoa for (my lunches). BUT I had quinoa chili last night (someone else brought it to a potluck) and it was AWESOME! I’m super-stoked to find the recipe online and make it myself. (The only obvious things in it were some red beans and some corn.) Seriously, super-tasty.
Did I mention it was delicious?
I have never tried quinoa but sure would like to give it a try if I knew what to do with it! How do you use Chia seeds? And do you use Agave like you do honey? I just found your blog and I am going to explore it and facebook!
Liked you on Facebook as well!
I love quinoa. I eat it nearly every day, especially during pregnancy because it’s high protein. I like using it in a gluten-free taboulleh salad i make, and also just sprinkled with nutritional yeast, flax, and sometimes rice vinegar. Yum!
I’m not a stranger to quinoa, chia seeds or agave. I load up my green smoothies with chia seeds, and I also love to make chia pudding (3 T. chia seeds + 3/4 cup almond milk + spices and fruit). Agave nectar is my go-to sweetener for most recipes, and my kids love it in place of honey with nut butter on toast. Quinoa is definitely one of my favorite foods- I love to use it in place of brown rice or pasta. It’s a wonder seed!
Thanks for the chance to win this awesome giveaway!

This is a great giveaway! I just started using agave a few months ago and I love it for my smoothies! I have always liked my green smoothies but I did have to choke them down sometimes b/c they lacked sweetness. I just discovered one teaspoon of agave was enough to counter act that and making it a delicious, sweet smoothie! I also have really been wanting to try chia seeds (btw-there’s a blog post! Can you do some teaching on chia seeds? I’ve heard bits and pieces of their benefits but haven’t put it all together yet in my head). So I would love to try out their chia seeds. Regardless, now that I know Bob’s carries them I will be heading out to buy some in the near future! Thanks!
Yes–chias are amazing little guys, I will put your request for my chia know-how on my blog-to-do list!
I have used quinoa quite a few times in dinner-type recipes. (mixed with beans and veggies-yum!) I would love to try chia seeds and the agave sweetener (pancakes?! yes!)
I follow you on twitter!
I’ve used all those ingredients, use them quite regularly actually! Quinoa is a staple in a ton of my meals as a grain, chia seeds go in my smoothies and agave finds it’s way into my raw desserts!
I have used all 3 of those ingredients. I just put agave nectar on some pancakes this morning! I love quinoa as an alternative to rice, my number one vegan recipe that I can confidently share with any and everyone is actually a pretty basic (nevertheless DELICIOUS) quinoa and black bean recipe. I have used chia seeds in smoothies, but only discovered their ability to replace fats and oils in recipes in the form of gel when I made your lemony pineapple bars! SO awesome.
I’ve had quinoa and used chia seeds. There’s a quinoa salad I’m dying to find the recipe for that I’ve had a couple times. And I use chia seeds like the Tarahumara as iskiate – in a glass with water, honey and lemon.
Janae, I love all of these ingredients and use them regularly. The chia seeds I put in a jar with water and keep in the refrigerator to put in my smoothies. By doing this I get the extra protein, but they don’t make my smoothie turn to pudding. I make a delicious quinoa salad. The ingredients are as follows: quinoa, (of course) black or white beans, cilantro, fresh garlic, red onion, cucumber, tomato, green olives, lemon juice, a little olive juice, sea salt and avocado to top it all off. It’s one of my favorites, and my husband loves it too. As for the agave nectar, I too love all of the various flavor choices. I use it on my pancakes, in my cereal and on my oatmeal.
Jane
Also wanted to let you know how much I like your web site. I went vegan 7 months ago and have really enjoyed all of your tips. I used many of your ideas in trying to lose weight, for example eating mostly vegetables at my meals. In the process, I lost 25 pounds. So thank you very much for your great site. I look forward to reading it daily or whenever you have something new.
I’ve used all three ingredients! agave in white cupcakes and a few drops in oatmeal is delicious!
For quinoa, in the summer quinoa makes a really good substitute for rice or pasta in a salad. Add in fresh tomatoes, kidney beans, cucumbers, peppers and mushrooms, some cilantro and corn, and you have a very yummy salad.
I have yet to try real chai seeds. I have had them in muffins, tea, and a few other sweets, but I have not used it myself. It would be fun to try and make chai-speckled cookies or muffins at home!
I love all three ingredients! Chia seed pudding, or just sprinkled on salad. Quinoa is one of my little one’s favorite foods especially mixed with brown rice. Agave is my new favorite. I know it’s not a health food but so much better than white sugar. I often use it to bake. When I get the time of course. Beautiful pictures, Janae!! I love them!! I’m dabbling myself and you have lovely ideas.
I’ve never tried quinoa, chia seeds, or agave – although I did just buy agave and chia seeds this week. Man those chia seeds are expensive, I had to buy a lb bag for $10 because there was a shortage and the bulk was out and I couldn’t come back when it was supposed to be in, blah, blah, blah. Anyway, I am going to make those Chocolate Chip Yum cookies of yours – gluten free style.
I am excited to share them with my mom this weekend when I go visit, since she has Celiac Disease.
Well I just tried quinoa for the first time a few days ago, and to be honest I did not care for it. But I will try it again. It was a texture thing….I also have chia seeds, unopened, in my pantry. I bought them because I know that they are healthy, just not sure what to do with them (yet). As for the agave, I added some to a vegan cornbread recipe I tried..which was extremely sweet for me, but my girls LOVED it!
