Fitworkout Video: Yoga for Strength

Have you ever done yoga?  (I love it!)

I know, if you have done yoga before, you’re mostly likely saying:  I adore yoga!  Most people who try it become immediate addicts.

If you haven’t, you might be saying one of the following 3 things:

1)  I’m not flexible. (rarely is anyone “naturally” flexible.  we’re all tight.  this is why you need yoga. duh.)

2)  The poses look too hard.  I’d never be able to bend like that! (um, who says you have to bend like that?)

3)  Is yoga a religion or something? (no.)

The popularity of yoga has exploded in the last 10 years.  I started practicing about 10 years ago & have been a regular part-time yogi ever since.  I have my yoga alliance certification in Ashtanga yoga, but the style of yoga that I like to personally practice & teach is more a fusion of less rigid yoga styles (like Anusara) & I sometimes incorporate Pilates since I think yoga & Pilates can easily blend & compliment each other.

Here’s a workout that you can do in 15 minutes & will leave you feeling refreshed & challenged.  You’ll gain strength through a fusion of hatha yoga poses & light hand weights. You’ll also work on balance, core strength & flexibility.  Hand weights will help increase resistance & add definition to arms & upperbody.

So if you’ve never given yoga a go before, here’s your chance.  No excuses now–it’s short, yet effective, & free!

Also, as a courtesy, if you do this workout (or any of my others), would you please leave me any feedback in the comment section below or shoot me an email?  Reader feedback will help me to know what I can improve on, as well as plan out upcoming workouts.

Thanks beautiful!
